On this day we had a dilemma. We did´n know if to take the car to visit the city or not... Everybody warned us that the traffic is horrendous but also said that it is otherwise impossible to move around. We took the risk and we first went to the Griffith Observatory to see the Hollywood sign and after that went to the Walk of Fame. We thought that the sign was very small and the walk a neck breaker. Appetisers in hooters "delightfully tacky yet unrefined". This appetiser saved us from fainting while trying to get to Santa Monica Beach and getting trapped in a traffic jam in the afternoon heat. By the time we arrived to the beach there was a heavy fog/toxic cloud and we couldn´t really see a thing and didn´t want to strip down to our swimming costumes.
At night we went to the Staples centre where Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Sparks play. Bonnie and Clyde went in to watch the ice hockey, a modern version of the Roman circus, the fights between players were the only thing that made the spectators jump their seats. The poor of them went in the clothes they were wearing for the beach and nearly lost some toes to frostbite. Thelma and Louise preferred to walk around the "historic centre" of LA and then watched the match more comfortably in the nearby pub.
We could not stay out for too long in our last night in the USA, our flight left at 10am and with the traffic in the city we were going to have to get up at 4am....
